Issues with your PVC door locking?

UPVC doors are some of the most common doors in the country. The convenience of having a multilocking system on one door is great.....however issues can occur with these. The complexity of the mechanics of a UPVC door lock is far greater than a standard mortice deadlock. As North London Locksmiths we face the day to day challenges UPVC doors bring in a large scale.
 
The main issue with a PVC door is when lifting the handle all the bolts have to work in tandem. They all shoot out of roll up or down and go into place, when they do go into place there is a possibility of friction on the keeps (or strike plates). This can in turn put a lot of pressure on the centre case which could mean something crucial breaking inside the mechanism.
 
Well if its something small it can’t be that important right? Well if only that would be true, everything that is in the lock case is there for a reason and its for that reason PVC doors need to be taken care of. London Locksmiths such as ourselves will be able to assist in the event that the lock stops working, however its important you adjust anything that puts too much strain on your lock.
